This embroidered Mexican Otomi pouch with colorful tassel will complete your outfit and your day. Beware, you will not stop getting compliments with this bag!
Otomi embroidery became popular in the 1960s, when a severe drought forced farmers to find new sources of income. The colorful Mexican textiles identify the maker’s village or ethnic group; the Otomi people live in the mountains in the central state of Hidalgo. Legend has it that the Otomi prints’ figures, birds, and animals were inspired by nearby cave drawings.
